Product Overview
SENTINUS is an ultra-fast AI-assisted X-ray body screening system designed for correctional facilities, detention centers, border control points and other high-security environments where every person must be screened quickly, consistently and with clear visual evidence.
The system performs a sub-second full-body X-ray scan with ultra-low radiation dose and uses A-EYE software to assist operators in detecting threats and contraband concealed in or on the human body.
Unlike conventional body scanners that rely on routine full-image interpretation, SENTINUS is built around an evidence-focused workflow. Suspicious regions are displayed locally against the outline of the human body, helping the operator focus on visual evidence, confirm the result and make the final decision with greater speed and confidence.
AI-Assisted Evidence Workflow
SENTINUS is engineered to support high-confidence people screening without placing the full burden of image interpretation on the operator. After each scan, A-EYE software analyzes the X-ray image and highlights areas that may require attention. The operator is presented with focused visual evidence rather than having to rely only on continuous manual review of the complete full-body image.
This approach helps reduce routine workload, improve consistency between operators and support a more privacy-sensitive review process. The system does not remove operator responsibility. Instead, it structures the review, localizes suspicious findings and provides the visual context needed for operator confirmation according to facility procedures.
Screening Process and Applications
The system is intended for detecting threats and contraband concealed under clothing, attached to the body, inserted into body cavities or swallowed. This makes SENTINUS especially relevant for inmate intake, transfer areas, visitor screening, staff screening and other correctional workflows where concealed contraband remains a persistent operational risk.
During screening, the person passes through the open inspection area while the system performs a high-speed X-ray scan. The short stillness time helps maintain the natural flow of people and reduces delays associated with traditional full-body X-ray inspection, while ultra-low dose technology supports frequent use in controlled security environments.
Data & System Management
SENTINUS is designed for integration into facility-level security operations. The software environment supports scan history, image archive work, user roles, access control and review workflows for operators, supervisors and administrators. This allows facilities to manage screening data, review previous scans and maintain traceable decision-making across daily operations.
By combining high-speed scanning, medical-grade spatial resolution, AI-assisted threat recognition and a contactless pass-through workflow, SENTINUS helps U.S. correctional facilities improve contraband detection, reduce inspection bottlenecks, support staff efficiency and create a more consistent people screening process.
Detected threats:
- Explosives (solid, liquid)
- Firearms and bladed weapons
- Illicit drugs and narcotics
- Contraband concealed internally
- Electronic devices
- Non-metallic objects (ceramics, plastics)
Detection tools:
Smart threat detection
DRUGUARD – drug detection
Key features
Sub-second X-ray capture
Captures a full-body X-ray image in a fraction of a second, helping maintain fast movement through correctional and high-security screening points.
A-EYE assisted threat recognition
Uses AI-assisted image analysis to identify suspicious regions and support detection of contraband concealed in or on the human body.
Localized visual evidence
Displays potential threats as focused visual evidence against the outline of the human body, helping operators confirm findings faster and with greater confidence.
Operator-confirmed decision-making
Structures the screening review without removing operator responsibility. The system highlights evidence while the trained operator makes the final decision.
Ultra-low dose people screening
Designed for frequent security screening with an ultra-low X-ray dose and safety controls suitable for controlled people-screening environments.
Open, wheelchair-accessible design
Fully compliant with U.S. ADA standards for universal access.
