High-Throughput Security Checkpoint

People rarely move through a security checkpoint without their belongings. A person and their bag enter together, pass through security at the same time, and leave together, yet these two parts of the screening process have traditionally been handled by separate systems. Even when a walk-through detector and an X-ray scanner are installed side by side, each performs its own inspection and produces its own result, leaving security personnel to coordinate the two.

Baggage inspection has also traditionally been the slower part of this process. Every bag contains a different combination of objects, and conventional X-ray screening requires an operator to interpret image after image before baggage can proceed. LV STREAM removes this long-standing bottleneck by using AI to analyze X-ray data automatically and identify bags that may contain potential threats, allowing baggage screening to operate at a speed compatible with high-throughput people screening.

LINEV Systems brings these capabilities together in a High-Throughput Security Checkpoint where people and their belongings are screened in parallel as part of one controlled process. While LV STREAM automatically inspects the bag, the person proceeds through an adjacent compatible people-screening lane, allowing both sides of the checkpoint to operate simultaneously instead of creating separate screening stages and separate queues.

The solution goes beyond placing two screening systems next to each other or simply synchronizing their operation. LINEV proprietary checkpoint software maintains the relationship between each person and their bag, combines screening information as both move through the checkpoint, monitors baggage collection, and directs operator attention when either screening process identifies something that requires further inspection.

VISUAL EVIDENCE™ converts people-screening alerts into clear, person-specific information by showing the alert location on a digital silhouette corresponding to the actual person. Together with the associated baggage result and collection status, this information is presented through a common tablet-based operator environment, giving security personnel a clear view of what requires attention without having to interpret several independent systems.

From Separate Screening to One Checkpoint

High throughput depends on more than the speed of the individual screening devices. Once AI-automated X-ray inspection removes the traditional baggage bottleneck, the rest of the checkpoint must be able to operate at the same pace. LINEV Systems uses proprietary software to coordinate people screening, baggage inspection, operator review, and baggage collection as parts of the same process, preserving the speed gained through LV STREAM instead of losing it elsewhere in the checkpoint.

As a visitor places a bag on the LV STREAM conveyor and proceeds through the people-screening lane, both inspections begin in parallel. Screening information is processed within the checkpoint environment while the software maintains the relationship between the person and the bag as they follow separate physical paths. When neither side identifies a reason for intervention, the person can collect the bag and continue without unnecessary delay.

VISUAL EVIDENCE™ for Faster Operator Decisions

A people-screening alert is useful only if the officer can quickly understand where to direct the subsequent inspection. Conventional detector zones provide an approximate alert position, while camera overlays may surround the relevant information with clothing, movement, background objects, and other visual detail. VISUAL EVIDENCE™ is designed to simplify this step rather than add another image for the operator to interpret.

Camera-based analysis determines the height, proportions, and position of the person passing through the screening lane and generates an individualized digital silhouette. When an alert occurs, its location is mapped to the corresponding body area. The operator can therefore move directly from detection to a focused secondary inspection without translating an abstract detector zone or searching for an alert marker within a live camera scene.

Person and Bag Traceability

At a busy checkpoint, several people and several bags may be moving through security at the same time. Walking speeds differ, people pause, groups move together, and baggage continues along the conveyor independently of the person. For this reason, visual observation alone becomes increasingly unreliable as a way of maintaining the relationship between a person and their belongings.

The checkpoint software maintains the association between the person and the bag placed on the LV STREAM conveyor throughout the screening process. A people-screening event can therefore be reviewed together with the corresponding baggage result, while a bag identified by the LV STREAM AI can remain associated with the person who introduced it into the checkpoint. The same relationship can be maintained through baggage collection, helping security personnel identify suspect or unclaimed items and the people associated with them.

One Operator Environment

Instead of distributing checkpoint information across independent detector displays, X-ray workstations, and camera screens, the relevant screening results are brought together through a common tablet-based interface. The operator can review the people-screening alert, VISUAL EVIDENCE™ localization, associated baggage result, person-to-bag relationship, and collection status within the same working environment.

The checkpoint operates through a local system architecture designed to support screening, AI processing, event information, and operator control without requiring an external WAN connection for normal operation. Single-lane and multi-lane configurations can be developed around the required checkpoint capacity and physical layout.

The next generation of AI for automatic x-ray threat detection in cargo and baggage

AI-Powered Detection of Weapons, Explosives & Threats in Schools

Across the U.S., school administrators are facing growing pressure to protect students and staff from evolving security threats. From concealed weapons and disassembled firearms to homemade explosives, the risks entering through schoolbags are real and rising. Traditional methods often rely on human review, which is slow and prone to error.

Today’s leading security experts are turning to next-generation technologies like AI-powered X-ray screening systems. These systems use raw image data for real-time threat detection, identifying high-risk items faster and more accurately than the human eye ever could. This innovation is key to transforming school checkpoints into safe, efficient, and non-intrusive security gateways.

The LV STREAM solution by LINEV Systems combines the speed of 1500+ bag scans per hour with fully automated analysis — no operator interpretation required. Trusted by schools and venue security teams alike, it’s a smarter, safer way to protect what matters most.
