Small-angles incident beam antiscatter slit

Small-angles incident beam antiscatter slit
LOT #O1003 | Antiscatter slit for small-angle XRD, reducing background radiation at low diffraction angles.
Small-angles incident beam antiscatter slit

Description

Small-angles measurements (2θ < 10°) are accompanied by a significant increase in background
radiation associated mainly with out-of-focus radiation tails of the X-ray tube. A knife collimator
is used to reduce background radiation for measurements at narrow diffraction angles.

Alternatively, or as a supplement to the latter, an ASS antiscatter slit for narrow angles can be
used. The ASS slits are installed into the incident beam mask socket (instead of BM1) and have
numerical markings that coincide with the DS divergence slit markings.
