LINEV Systems to Present BATTERAY Platform and BATTERAY ARGUS at Ecomondo 2026

LINEV Systems at Ecomondo 2026

FOCUS: Intelligent battery detection, sorting and recycling automation

EVENT: Ecomondo 2026

DATE: 3–6 November 2026

LOCATION: Rimini Expo Centre, Rimini, Italy

STAND: A2 201

SOLUTIONS: BATTERAY Platform and BATTERAY ARGUS

At Stand A2 201, the company will present the BATTERAY Platform together with BATTERAY ARGUS, demonstrating how advanced X-ray imaging, artificial intelligence and intelligent process automation can help address some of the complex challenges facing modern recycling operations.

Ecomondo brings together the international community working across waste treatment, material recovery, recycling technologies, circular economy solutions and industrial sustainability. For LINEV Systems, the exhibition provides an opportunity to meet recyclers, MRF operators, WEEE processors, waste management companies and technology partners looking for new ways to make recycling processes safer, more controlled and increasingly automated.

The Growing Challenge of Batteries in Waste Streams

As the number of battery-powered devices continues to grow, batteries are appearing in increasingly complex waste streams.

They may arrive as individual cells, but they can also remain hidden inside small electronics, appliances, plastic housings and other products. Damaged, unmarked or concealed batteries can be difficult to identify through visual inspection alone.

When these batteries continue further into a recycling process, they can reach shredders, compactors, balers and other equipment, creating additional operational and fire risks.

At the same time, dedicated battery recycling operations face another challenge: accurately identifying and separating different battery types and chemistries from heterogeneous incoming material.

LINEV Systems is developing the BATTERAY technology ecosystem around both challenges: understanding what is inside the material stream and using that information to support better processing decisions.

BATTERAY Platform: From Detection to Intelligent Processing

At Ecomondo 2026, LINEV Systems will present the broader BATTERAY Platform, a modular technology platform developed around intelligent detection, classification, material routing, sorting and automation.

Rather than approaching battery recycling as a single-machine task, BATTERAY Platform is designed as a configurable process architecture.

X-ray inspection can reveal internal characteristics that cannot be reliably determined from a battery’s external appearance alone. Combined with AI-based recognition and intelligent process logic, this information can be used to classify materials and direct them toward appropriate downstream processing routes.

The modular approach allows the technology configuration to be adapted to different incoming streams, throughput requirements, required output fractions, existing infrastructure and automation objectives.

The result is a pathway from complex and unpredictable incoming material toward more controlled, defined and process-ready streams.

BATTERAY ARGUS: Detecting the Battery You Cannot See

A major focus at Ecomondo will also be BATTERAY ARGUS, developed for the detection of hidden batteries in recycling and waste streams.

BATTERAY ARGUS combines X-ray inspection with AI-powered recognition and optical sensing to identify battery-containing objects that may not be visible from the outside.

The technology is designed for applications including recycling facilities, material recovery facilities, WEEE processing and waste management operations where hidden batteries can create significant risks further down the processing line.

By detecting batteries before critical processing stages, BATTERAY ARGUS can support operators in making earlier removal decisions, reducing unwanted battery contamination and helping lower the risk associated with batteries reaching shredding or other heavy processing equipment.

The system can support both manual removal workflows and more automated rejection concepts depending on the recycling line configuration.

Bringing More Intelligence Into Recycling

For LINEV Systems, the future of recycling is not simply about sorting faster. It is about understanding the material stream better.

X-ray technology provides information from inside an object. Artificial intelligence helps interpret that information at industrial speeds. Automation then allows those decisions to become part of a coordinated recycling process.

BATTERAY Platform and BATTERAY ARGUS demonstrate how these technologies can work together to help recycling businesses gain greater visibility and control over increasingly complex material streams.

Working with LINEV Systems

Replacing an X-ray body scanner is a strategic decision that affects security performance, operational efficiency, and long-term facility planning. Selecting the right technology is only one part of the process — successful implementation also depends on proper system configuration, integration, training, and ongoing support.

LINEV Systems works with security organizations to identify the most suitable screening approach based on their operational requirements, facility conditions, and detection objectives. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution, each project is evaluated according to factors such as screening volume, available space, workflow requirements, and future technology needs.

From initial consultation and equipment selection to installation, operator training, and technical support, LINEV Systems provides full lifecycle assistance to help companies maintain reliable screening operations.

With decades of experience in X-ray security technologies and AI-assisted screening solutions, LINEV Systems supports correctional facilities, border control agencies, and other high-security environments in modernizing their screening capabilities and preparing for future operational challenges.
